Voting Equipment

Spencer County uses the Microvote Infinity touch button voting panel for all its elections. The equipment purchased primarily with funds from the federal HAVA act with a smaller contribution from the county was first used in the May 2, 2006 Primary election. It was a great success and everyone found the panels very user-friendly.

Since that initial use of electronic machines Spencer County has also added POLL PADS which replaced the paper poll books used for many years.  The POLL PAD allowed for much quicker and efficient voter identification, reducing the wait time to vote.

If you would like to arrange a demonstration of the new voting equipment please contact the Voter Registration office at 649-6017.
